Steelers sign TJ Watt to historic $112 million contract

PFF ranks Watt as seventh best player in NFL

The Steelers now have two players in PFF's Top 50, with Watt at 11 and Cam Heyward at 31

With just days to go before the start of the 2021 NFL season, the Pittsburgh Steelers have signed star edge defender TJ Watt to a four-year, $112 million contract. The deal makes Watt the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL.

Watt is coming off a historic season in which he recorded 22.5 sacks, 10 tackles for loss, and five forced fumbles. He was named the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year for his efforts.

The Steelers are hoping that Watt can continue to be a dominant force on their defense. He is a key part of a unit that is expected to be one of the best in the NFL in 2021.

Watt is not the only player on the Steelers' defense who has been ranked highly by PFF. Cam Heyward, who plays defensive tackle, is ranked 31st on the list.

The Steelers are the only team in the NFL with two players in the PFF's Top 50. This is a testament to the strength of the Steelers' defense.
